The Texas Angler's Club Monster Catfish tournaments kicked off in 2008 and have since provided exhilarating experiences in the pursuit of enormous catfish. The tournament showcases two primary events: the Friday competition, which awards the title of Grand Cat Master, and the Saturday contest, where the Catfish King is determined.

Several pivotal figures have played a crucial role in the event's success, including Jackie "Kitty-Hunter" Murphy, who helped initiate the first tournament. JC “Southpaw” Rodriguez and Ruben “Rusty-Hook” Amesquita from SmartArt Branding. Additionally, esteemed fishing guides Tommy “Tom-Cat” Blanzedt and Steve “Peanut” Nelson have been key supporters of this endeavor, along with several key sponsors.
